Pure. Tested. Proven.

Olive oil should never be a mystery. At EVGE, every bottle comes with proof.

Why Region Matters

EVGE Extra Virgin Olive Oil is grown in one of the world’s most exceptional climates for olives: Kalamata, in Messenia. Our groves rise 1,100 feet above sea level, perched on slopes that allow the trees to take in just enough rainwater, never too much. Only 12 kilometers from the sea, the olives are kissed by salty breezes that intensify flavor. The result is fruit that carries the terroir of Greece in every press.

The Harvest

Every autumn, olives are gathered at the exact moment they begin to ripen. A gentle “tree tickling machine” coaxes them from the branches onto canvases laid beneath. They are then hand-selected and placed into breathable crates that protect them from crushing. Within hours they are moved to cool storage at the press, where freshness is preserved until pressing.

Why Cold Pressing Matters

Within three days of harvest, the olives are pressed at temperatures below 25°C (77°F). This choice means we produce far less oil than high-temperature methods, but it also means we retain more antioxidants, polyphenols, and delicate flavors. High-heat pressing may yield three times the oil, but it raises acidity and destroys the very nutrients that make olive oil valuable. At EVGE, we choose quality over volume.

The Acidity Standard

Acidity is one of the clearest markers of quality, yet you rarely see it on supermarket bottles. By law, extra virgin olive oil must not exceed 0.8%. EVGE has never exceeded 0.3% in annual lab tests. This is one of the lowest readings you will find anywhere, and it reflects the extraordinary freshness of our oil.

Tested and Certified

Every batch of EVGE is tested for acidity and quality, certified as extra virgin by the European Union, and recognized internationally. Our oils have earned awards such as the Kotinos Gold Medal for medium fruitiness, but the most important recognition comes from customers who trust what they taste.

Our Results...

Our most recent lab analysis shows results that place EVGE among the finest extra virgin olive oils in the world. The free acidity of our oil measured just 0.24%, well below the international threshold of 0.8% for extra virgin classification and a clear sign of freshness and purity. Just as impressive are our phenolic compounds, with total polyphenols at 319 mg/kg. Within these, compounds such as Oleocanthal and Oleacin are especially valuable—natural antioxidants responsible for the peppery finish and well documented anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular benefits of high-quality olive oil. Combined, these markers confirm that EVGE is not only exceptional in flavor but also nutritionally superior, offering health benefits backed by measurable science.

The EVGE Difference

Most commercial oils are a mix of sources, harvested with machines, pressed at higher temperatures, and bottled with little transparency. EVGE is single estate, hand-harvested, cold-pressed within days, and tested for purity every year. The difference is not subtle—it is something you notice in every bite.
